Manic Panic has been around for a very long time, if anyone didn't know. I have used three of their colors (ultra violet, hot hot pink, fire red) and I haven't been displeased yet. You just have to know YOUR HAIR and know HOW TO USE HAIR DYE. Just like ALWAYS wearing gloves while applying a color. I LOVE IT!

Manic Panic colors are wonderful to look at, but the problem is the effort you have to put into actually keeping the color in your hair. That statement doesn't apply to every color they have. Ultra-violet was very vibrant when I initially dyed it, but I shampooed my hair twice and now it's a horrible blue-grey. I look 20 years older and not in a good way. I don't think it's necessary to sacrifice personal hygiene or use dry shampoo for a month just to keep it purple.

Permanent purple hair dye doesn't exist, so don't expect that from this product. I used it for several months and had to redye my hair every week to keep it purple. In normal lights it looked fine, but this color showed up blue under florescent lighting. If that's alright with you great, but I'm going to look for a new product.
