Special Effects SFX Hair Color Hair Dye Toner Mixer

I have been dying my hair for almost 25 years. It's been many colors, but is currently lavender/white (Special Effects mixer/toner) on top, with Special Effects Wildflower underneath. I prefer this brand and color to any other brand of semi-permanent colors I've tried, for its' excellent hue and length of time it keeps my hair toned. This product will work properly on very light bleached hair, (pale lemon yellow) to make it either white, or progressive shades of lavender depending on how long you keep it in. I keep my mixer/toner color on anywhere from 2-5 hours, (with a cap on) to get an awesome shade of lavender that will eventually fade into a silver white over several weeks. (but please make sure to note the manufacturer's directions, and use at your own discretion and risk.) Washing and rinsing your hair with cool water helps sustain the color longer. It muted some of the uneven brassiness of the bleach job, but i left it on too long & the ends stayed purple (like the color of the toner) Manic Panic Virgin Snow worked good last time.

I applied this "toner" after bleaching my hair VERY blonde, to remove the brassiness. And it did...nothing.

Not anything at all.
No change. Nada. Zip. Zero.
I left it on for a very long time too, thinking "surely this will do SOMETHING!" But it didnt...
Perhaps it was my fault, but I followed the directions.
I tried another Special Effects color on bleached hair (purple smoke) and it didn't work either. Admittedly purple smoke is a pastel shade, so I was expecting it to be light, but it didn't dye at all, it might've well just been a conditioner, and the same goes for this toner.(on the upside, my hair did feel nice and soft after using these!)

I don't know. It just didn't work at all on my hair.
