I've been using Sebastian cellophane for many years. And although the original formula was better on my hair, the new formula is still very good. I try to use it (clear or honey blonde) once every four weeks or so. But most recently i had gone without it for about two months, and in the meantime, I tried John Frieda Salon Glaze. It barely did an "okay" job. Then two weeks ago, i finally got another tube of the Sebastian cellophane. Boy do i notice a difference when i use it - my hair is gorgeous (natural shine, smooth strands (each strand seems to be coated with a smooth texture), beautiful body, lovely color). How i use it:
1. Apply it to dry hair or wet hair, making sure to cover all strands and the ends of hair. It seems that applying it to dry hair makes it permeate hair more, but you'll probably use the product up faster this way; wet hair allows you to spread it over the hair easier, thereby using less of it.

Just after using it, my hair felt and looked fabulous. It was super soft and silky and shiney as well. But-- my hair started falling out the first time I washed it afterward. Then a few weeks later, my hair started getting frizzy, brittle and frail. A lot of my hair fell out from using this.
If you have thin hair, don't use this.

Sebastian cellophane is of an excellent quality. Even my hairdresser has me bring my own as it is so much better than the Timeline brand offered at that salon. Unfortunately, the honey blonde had a slightly more red tone than one would expect. We were expecting a golden honey tone to be the dominant color. However, because of its quality, the effect was not cheesy but tasteful, and it blended in nicely. With cellophanes, it always pays to choose a color lighter than you would normally choose.
