Naturtint Permanent Hazelnut Blonde 7N 2 Ounces

Comment: Quick Overview:

-Hair was softer, shinier, and seemingly healthier AFTER the dye job.
-The hair color does not leave hair looking like one flat hair color. Instead, it seems to pick up several tones of color making it appear more 'natural.'
-For the first time in years, I did not have an allergic reaction to hairdye!
-The cover picture is deceptive; my virgin haired roots looked noting like naturtint's color guide predicted.


Although the Hazelnut Blonde hair-dye did my skin tone and natural coloring no favors, it was still a beautiful color. The dye actually enhanced the shine of my hair whereas any other dye would just zap it of all moisture, leaving it like hay. Naturtint left my hair touchably soft, almost as if I was left with untouched, virgin hair.

The best part about the hairdye is its natural quality. For once, I was not left with an itchy scalp or allergy induced bumps on the head. My allergies are so bad that it generally takes a few days to recover from the chemicals used in my hair. This time, there was no recovery time. And this more than any other reason is why I will be sticking with Naturtint for my hairdye of choice. I'll just be sure to select a different shade...

As I said in my quick overview, the color did not come out as the color chart indicated. In my opinion, the color is more of a "G" (golden color) versus the "N" (neutral color) they labeled it as. Thus, it seems to pick up reddish to golden blonde tones. I myself like to have some golden hues in my hair, but this was just TOO gold. So just be forewarned, although this product is great, the color may not come out as expected(see the online color guide [...]).

Comment: I wanted to try this product because I was looking for a non-ammonia permanent product. I have tried Naturcolor and Tints of Nature; both of these have strengths and weaknesses I won't discuss here. Anyhow this brand seemed to have a loyal following that extended for years, so I thought I would try it. It contains monoethanolomine which is still an ammonia but without a smell; it's still a toxic substance. The product had another type of smell which was like wet wool and not very pleasant. The gray didn't cover and the color came out too warm.

Comment: On a whim I decided to try this hair colorant. It was very easy to apply, it did not sting or burn my scalp, it was pleasant smelling. I should say that I had let my hair grow out to it's natural color for over a year (mousy brown gray) because I was tired of spending both the time and the $120 at Aveda salons.
I am glad I chose a lighter color, mine was in fact golden honey blonde, the permanent colorant. My hair turned out much darker than I expected after leaving the colorant on for the full 20 minutes. It certainly does cover the gray! And the gray hair does appear a bit lighter than the rest of my hair - which is fine. The color is very rich and deep. A bit too much for what I was expecting, however I will say that I can't see any difference between this product and the very expensive treatments I used to have at Aveda salons. I would use it again, and perhaps mix it with an even lighter shade of blonde. Or - leave it on for less time. I wouldn't hesitate to try it again, although I will also say that I look forward to it's lightening up a bit after shampooing. It's supposed to fade out between 3- 5 weeks. I would also like to add that every once and awhile I was surprised at how my "regular" color turned out at the salon - perhaps that's due to the nature of my hair. If you are interested in trying this product, perhaps choose a shade or 2 lighter at first or don't leave it on as long if you don't want such an vibrant color. Also, the other reviewer's tip on using the conditioner was well advised, I think it did make my hair softer after the process. Some reviewers thought they needed 2 bottles, my hair is also thick and shoulder length and one bottle was more than enough for me.

Comment: The color of this dye is a medium brown and not blond at all. But it is a warm shade and the coverage is good. What I like best is that this product does not have a noxious odor, as many hair dyes do. It is no different to use than any other home hair dying product.
