I used this henna for a hair treatment. I mixed the henna powder with a little lemon juice and Twinings A Moment of Calm Orange Mango Cinnamon tea into a paste. The paste was dark green. I let the paste rest overnight for dye release. In the morning the paste was a shade or two lighter than dark green. I used gloves to apply the henna to my clean hair and put my hair in a conditioning cap. When I finished applying the henna paste to my hair the gloves were stained reddish-orange, evidence the dye released overnight. I rinsed the henna from my hair after 4 hours and followed with a moisturizing deep conditioner. I loved the results--my black hair now shimmers red in the sunlight.

After have been dying my hair with henna for 5 years, I can say that Mumtaz Henna is not henna. First, it is too deep green( food coloring added). Second,it simply doesn't work.
I applied it anyway on my hair (knowing that something wrong with this henna) hoping that it would give at list some coloring.....and it didn't!!!! After 3 hours keeping it on my hair, my roots are the same color they were before. Horrible!

THIS WAS VERY EASY TO MIX AND USE. IT PERFORMED AS EXPECTED. THE POWDER WAS GREEN IN COLOR, AN INDICATOR THAT IT IS FRESH.

I MIXED THREE BOXES WITH THREE QUARTS OF BREWED TEA AND ALLOWED IT TO DEVELOP OVER NIGHT. NEXT I SMEARED THE PASTE IN SMALL SECTIONS FROM THE NAPE OF MY NECK TO THE FRONT OF MY HAIR LINE. THEN I COVERED MY HAIR WITH A PLASTIC CAP- DOUBLED WITH A STRIP OF PAPER TOWELS ALONG EDGE OF FIRST CAP FOR CLEANLINESS AND I LET SIT FOR FOUR HOURS.

MY VERY DARK 'OFF BLACK' HAIR NOW HAS PERFECT AUBURN HIGHLIGHTS. MORE RED IN THE GRAY AREAS (I'M ABOUT THREE - FIVE PERCENT GRAY). MORE SUBTLE IN THE DARKEST AREAS OF MY HAIR.

I DO NOT LIKE THE EARTHY AROMA SO AFTER RINSING I ADDED A FEW DROPS OF ROSEMARY OIL TO A DEEP CONDITIONER, APPLIED IT AND RINSED. NO MORE CHEMICAL DYES FOR ME.
