Light Mountain Natural Color The Gray! Hair Color & Conditioner, Chestnut, 7 oz (197 g) (Pack of 2)

I am allergic to PPDs in chemical hair dyes. The sad fact is that I'm vain enough that I was willing to itch and have my scalp peel for a few days after every coloring - until I started getting systemic reactions.

For a couple of years, I lived with my gray. But I missed my colored hair, and I didn't like looking quite so old quite so soon. (I've been going gray since I was 18.)

I did some research online and found this product. It was the only henna hair color that offered to cover substantial amounts of gray hair. I have my hairdresser apply it, and over the years we've become confident and efficient. It still takes longer than chemical color, but is so benign that we both love it. The other hairdressers at his salon are always fascinated with the process - it makes the salon smell like a hayfield!

I love henna, and have used it for years. However, this particular color and brand does stain white bathtubs, which I has never happened to me with henna before. The chestnut turns out pretty dark, but it covers gray very well and leaves a great color. I think I'll try a lighter shade of this brand when this one washes out...

I had sever allergic reactions to the PPD in all "regular" hair-coloring products.
This did the trick, and looked great!
Will never use another hair coloring treatment again.
