Summary: some gray requires 2nd treatment 2010-01-11
Comment: This product is advertised to work "only on the gray" and that just isn't true. I have a goatee and on the right and left ends of it, I have patches of very color resistant gray. If I would leave the product on long enough to get those patches to color, the rest of my goatee would be midnight black. I normally have to color my entire goatee and then do a 2nd process just involving those 2 resistant patches (and I normally leave the product on 2 minutes more than the directions state for the 2nd process). But after it's all done, the end result is a nice ash brown goatee, free of the gray that ages me 10 years. If it could happen in one treatment, I'd change my rating to 5 stars. Growing old sure sucks.

Comment: This product is easy to use and works great. The Ash-Brown color is a perfect match for me and apparently only available through Amazon.com as local stores in my area no longer carry that color. I will continue to buy this product for as long as it remains available.

Comment: This is a reliable product however, the formula has apparently been "watered down" and requires more frequent application than in times gone by. Personally, I find it necessary to touch up at least once a week whereas in past formulas, you could go 2 or 3 weeks between applications. So, it will cost you more to look your best - what else is new?

Comment: I searched for "Just for Men Ash Brown." I didn't even know they made mustache & beard coloring, nor did the description mention it. I had to return the order and re-order hair coloring shampoo. They need to re-do their ads!

Comment: This color used to be called Ash Brown Neutral, which appears to have been discontinued. This formulation creates a very natural tone which fills in my husband's patchy gray spots. The secret is mixing a 1:1 of the two ingredients, and applying it quickly and evenly to the hair-- without splattering the dye all over the bathroom.
Like many hair dyes, it requires experimentation to determine how much time to let it cook. But the five minute time seems like a good place to start.
