I prefer brighter reds but the minute the salt and pepper roots come through it looks horrendous. I've tried just about every product on the market to maintain color and this is the only one I've found which delivers results.
You have to have dyed red hair to start with; just trying to use the glaze to give you red lights from scratch is NOT what it's for and it won't work. It's designed to hide growing roots and brighten dyed reds as they fade between colorings. It's not going to restore your color to its just-dyed depth but it does keep the color much brighter than without. It also gives the growing roots enough of a red tint that they are not noticeable unless you get up very close, like close enough to be doing your make up in a mirror. My roots are VERY noticeable otherwise, being now almost completely gray/silver. For the price of this luminous color glaze, I'd say it's a keeper. You apply this product on after you shampoo & condition your hair. If you accidentally get some of this stuff on your shower curtain, don't freak, it washes off with water easily. Once I finished blow-drying my hair, I noticed the beautiful shine it gave my hair and the softness. For the color glaze part, I noticed a little difference in my red highlights but not much. I'm hooked on this product and the price helps my bank account. By This review is from: John Frieda Radiant Red Luminous Color Glaze for Deeper, Richer Shades of Red Hair (Health and Beauty) I have naturally red hair that has as I get older is losing its red and going more of a washed out copper. I have been to salons for the color glaze and those do work much better than the home glaze BUT price wise....this is the best! It's easy to do and yes your hair has a subtle change in color after 1 use. The more often you use it the deeper the color gets. It does leave a greasy film on it so I'm going to try both the shampoo-glaze-than condition method and shampoo-condition-glaze-shampoo again method and see if this helps. Even with the greasy film its a great product. think it smells good but each to their own! |
