It does stain at first, but I have noticed that it comes out when washed immediately. Also, it washes out of the shower though sometimes takes some bleach and a wash cloth. I found the color very vibrant, and lasted a really, really long time. I really like this color and will continue to use this brand.

I have used several Punky Colors before so I knew what I was buying quality wise...just nervous about the color. It is the exact color that I was looking for - a dark, brilliant red. As it fades it does become a dark hot pink, but that is just fine with me. You do have to drastically lighten your hair as it will not stay on very long with hair that is only lightened a few levels or natural hair. My only complaint...which is to be expected with this kind of dye...is that every single time I wash my hair I have to spray down my shower immediately or I have to hit it with bleach or I have pink stains. That is a pain in the butt, but a small price to pay for beautiful color, great quality, and the nearly constant compliments I get on my hair everyday. Also - I wish they would come out with a larger container...I use almost an entire container each time I do my hair.

If you're looking for a vibrant, long lasting dye this is it. It's a vegetable based dye so YES it does stain. If staining is a problem for you then I wouldn't recommend this dye. After I shower, I just use bleach to clean off the pink tint it leaves and it comes right off. I've used this red wine for 6 months now and I love it.
