This review is from: Hennalucent Earth Brown 2oz (Health and Beauty) Hennalucent is an excellent alternative to traditional hair color. I've been using it for years to TINT my gray hair - keyword is TINT. I've been told several times, including by hair stylists, that I have beautiful highlights. I have medium brown hair and the earth brown (supposed to be light brown) is actually too dark (which is why I only gave it four stars), so I mix one box of earth brown with blush blond in a tupperware bowl (for easier storage). Measure out 1/2 cup in a cereal bowl and add boiling water until you get a pancake mix type consistency. After you've had it on your head long enough and are ready to rinse it out, I've found it comes out best with lots and lots of conditioning cream. Buy the cheapest you can find and slather it on, rinse then slather on more and rinse again. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Hennalucent Earth Brown 2oz (Health and Beauty) I had to put in a review because of the bad review I saw for this product. Don't be discouraged, hennalucent is a wonderful product. I have been using it for years. Its a great way to color your hair without all the harsh chemicals. As for the dryness, you just add more water to the product. It's supposed to be thick when applied which makes it a little harder to work with but it is worth it. You can also add an egg, avocado, or mayonaise to it (all which are conditioners for your hair) to make your hair even shinier. Henna shouldn't expire, its a plant, not chemicals. I had henna that I got from Israel for over 5 years and it still worked properly throughout all 5 years of use. The only thing about henna...it doesn't cover up gray hair. If you are gray hair free, try henna. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By New Mexico Gayla (Roswell) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Hennalucent is an excellent alternative to tradition hair color, and probably better for your hair too. It lasts long enough for my roots to grow out and tints grays so it looks like highlights. This is how it works: first, go to the dollar store and buy a package of shower caps and a bottle of conditioner. Wash your hair and leave it wet. Mix the powder with hot water to the consistency of pancake batter. I wear latex gloves and apply it in sections with a coloring brush, but you can use your hands just as well. Put on a shower cap and wait for about half an hour then get in the shower to rinse. It's going to feel very gritty! This is where the conditioner comes in - pour it on thick and work it though. After you rinse it, do it again. If you still feel gritty, do it again, but that's usually enough for me. Your hair will be incredibly shiny but it will smell a bit the first couple of days, not a chemical smell, just sort of weird. Note: I have medium brown hair and the...Read more |
