I was SO disappointed, it was much darker than the color on the box. It's not really red, but more of a dark brown with a hint of red, which isn't like the color guide at all. So, I ended up with a color that doesn't work for me because the box was deceiving.

I'm a natural born red-head but naturally red hair, just like chemically colored red hair, fades with time and age. So when my naturally auburn locks started turning beige with age, I started down a path of trying different reds both at home and in expensive salons.
After many trials and errors with my hair turning too coppery (orange) or purply-brown, I recently saw "True Red" and thought I'd give it a try. WOW, BANG, I got my youth back! My hair is now the same color as in my old photographs.

I wanted a specific result in which I wanted to keep my original dark brown hair color, but with a sheen of red and it hits the light.
This did the job. I read the directions carefully, but left the dye in for an hour. I also saturated my hair with a lot of dye.
It did come out to an extent, obviously it's not completely red, but it left kind of a plum-ish overtone, and some people notice it.
The part I liked the most about this is that it actually fixed my split ends [weird, i know!] and now my hair is shiny and nice.
I use the garnier fructisse color fortifying shampoo and conditioner and it works very well with my hair.
