Less smelly than most haircolor,

This has a lot less chemical smell than most brands of haircolor.
I can't say whether or not it washes out quickly compared to salon coloring, since I have never had one in a salon. It doesn't wash out any quicker than Nice N' Easy or L'Oreal Excellence. And the coverage of gray seemed the same as those brands.
About the conditioner--I used it after coloring the same way you always do with hair color, not by adding the conditioner to the other two parts. However, I think if I buy this again, I definitely will not use the condtioner that comes with it at all. It seemed to be almost pure oil, and I couldn't feel where it was going on my hair when I used it. So a lot of it got onto the roots of my hair, which made it really, really greasy. Next time, I would just throw the conditioner away and use some other conditioner.

Doesn't do the job,

I have my hair done at a salon but touch up at home. I usually buy Clairol Natural Instincts, but I had a coupon for this Garnier product. It doesn't do the job. I can leave it on for an hour and the gray is still there. Within a week, it looks like I never bothered. Even though the Clairol is semi-permanent color, it covers better and lasts longer. Plus, the Garnier makes my scalp itchy. The packaging is annoying, too. The fruit oil concentrate is a separate packet that you add to the other two liquids. And the color is in a stiff tube that you have to squeeze to get out. A worthy experiment, but I'm going back to Clairol.
