I bought this henna from a local Indian grocer at the price of $2.99 for 100 grams.
The henna powder is a nice shade of green, smells like fresh cut grass and is sifted pretty well (In the future I will sift it prior to use). This henna is Body Art Quality (BAQ). BAQ henna is made for use on skin but can be used on hair as well. Using BAQ henna is important because they do not contain harmful metallic salts that hennas made "for hair only" may contain. This brand of henna has a manufacturing date and an expiration date on the package unlike some other brands of henna. This is important because the coloring properties of henna degrade over time--one needs to know whether the henna they are purchasing will be effective.

A great henna for hair,

I love this henna for my hair. I got it from my local Indian grocery for 1.99. I mixed the henna with black tea, amla oil, sesame seed oil, plain yogurt and an egg. The mixture rinsed well and did not leave my hair dry. This henna will probably be my staple henna.

Used this henna this past weekend to color hair - excellent results. Not nearly as gritty as some I have used in the past, and hair came out with excellent color and shine. Highly recommend!
Can't wait to see how it does on skin now. :)
