I've tried a variety of products and this is definitely my favorite. Easy to apply. Covers well. Last for several weeks.

Clairol's Natural Instincts (for men) haircolor is a better product than the competing brands. Specific advantages are the dye/color treatment itself conditions your hair; thus hair will be much softer after using than competing brands. Also included in the Clairol package is a tube of color conditioning treatment; if you have dry hair, which most graying hair is, this conditioner is great. Overall color match requires a bit of trial and error but my experience has been that if you want medium brown hair, try the light brown hair color formula first. Otherwise, you may find that your hair is one or 2 shades darker than expected. Overall great product.

Consumer Reports rates this product superior at covering gray so I bought it even though I'm female. It's ammonia free so it left my hair very soft and covered gray very well. The only problem is that the light brown (my natural hair color)is really more of a dark brown. My kids thought my hair looked "black." I have shoulder-length hair and there was plenty of product to color it all but I did not have any left over.

Update: It's been over two months since I used this product and I have to give it more stars because of how long the gray coverage has lasted! Only a few are peeking thru. It's lasted much longer than the higher-priced L'Oreal Paris I used to use.
