It's cheaper than Aveda's "Clove" conditioner, but it's not nearly as good of a product. It leaves a slight hint of color, but it's impossible to rinse out. I applied it to my hair several times, and was left with greasy, stringy hair until the next time I shampooed. Honestly, I made a real effort to rinse it out, but it just made my hair nasty. It also smelled very cheap. I'm going back to my Aveda products. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Brilliant Brunette Luminous Color Glaze Chestnut to Espresso 6.5 oz. by John Frieda (Health and Beauty) I color my hair medium blonde to cover grey and a darker color. For the past 6 months I ahve been using John Frieds's Brilliant Brunette every other week to eliminate the need for touch ups. On the roots this product covers the grey and smooths the collor between the roots and the rest of my over-processed blonde hair. The product has given depth and multi-tones to my hair -- much more natural than the over-processed blonde I have been getting out of a bottle. My hair looks more natural, is in better health and is getting complements for the first time in years. This product washes out in about 6-8 shampoos which is why I use it once a week. It really is terrific and is helping me save money. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Brilliant Brunette Luminous Color Glaze Chestnut to Espresso 6.5 oz. by John Frieda (Health and Beauty) I purchased this on a whim at the drugstore and have been pleasantly surprised. I have long, straight, thick brown hair and the product has added noticeable shine, softness and a gentle color boost. I normally use "Clove" by Aveda, but I find that it doesn't add as much shine and feels like it weighs my hair down. It also costs nearly 3x as much. The glaze has also given me more of a "golden" tone to my brown hair than the Aveda product. I have had no problems with limp or greasy hair and absolutely no staining of my bathtub/shower. I find that the best way to use this product is to shampoo first then condition. After I rinse out the conditioner, I apply the glaze with my hands and then comb through with a wide-toothed comb. I then put my hair in a shower cap so the product can soak in while I wash and shave. When I'm done, I rinse out the product (which rinses out clean for me) and then go about my normal styling routine. I can still use my styling products...Read more |
