One of the major issues at home issues when lightening your hair is the brassy or orange colors you can get. It looks bad, and it's hard to fix without damaging your hair (doing it over and over etc. to try to make it better.) This can come from picking a color too light, using a peroxide that isn't strong enough with a light color aka use 40 not 20 to lighten, and also occurs when you don't leave the color on long enough. They keep you at the nice salons with color on hair for hours for a good reason. So, add this to the mix of color, add to highlighting bleach like "quick blue" plus the peroxide like Oreal, or add to a kit. This will reduce the brassy colors or eliminate them. If a "off" color still remains use a toner. Like Clairol's creme toners. Check their site out for the swatches, [...] when color hunting. For darking hair use a oreal 20 to lighten oreal 30 or 40 peroxide. Or another brand. When I colored my hair I added 2 packets to the dye and I didn't have brassy looking hair. |
